Todos los animales que estaban en el lugar presentaban síntomas de desnutrición.
En las afueras de Bogotá, en el municipio de Facatativá, las autoridades encontraron una escuela de adiestramiento canino donde 15 perros de razas rottweiler, pastor alemán, labrador, galgo afgano y malinoi eran maltratados.

Diariamente se puede observar en las calles del municipio de Soledad de Graciano Sánchez carretones de basura jalados por un caballo o burro, los cuales están en condiciones de salud muy graves. Esto porque existen personas que en lugar de verlos como un compañero, llegan a tratarlos peor que una máquina, los exponen a los cambios climatológicos y a permanecer sin descansar todo el día.
